As we predicted, the Celtics took care of business last night. As times grow sad and we realize that at most there are four games left in the NBA season, we’re reminded that we have crossed over the 90 day threshold for the NFL to start. For today, we’re heading back to the diamond for a powerhouse matchup of the Twins against the Yankees.

They are arguably the top team in baseball right now. The Yankees were the first to cross the 40-win threshold. They have taken a commanding seven-game lead in what was supposed to be one of the most competitive divisions in baseball. They are sending Cole to the mound today, and it’s kind of weird to say he’s having a bounce back season. His last season was never bad in terms of numbers, but by what we know him by and the standards we apply to him, it was a “bad” season. He comes in with a 5-1 record and a sub-3 ERA. The Yankees are 8-3 in games Cole has started, and he is a big reason they have the league’s best record.

Now before I say this, I do believe that the Twins have a decent level of talent, but I don’t think there is a team in baseball that has had and has an overall softer schedule than the Twins. Honestly, these two teams should have a switched record because of how cupcake the Twins’ schedule has been. For example, in September, coming down the stretch, they played 14 straight games against the Royals and the Guardians. No wonder MLB addresses the schedule this offseason. Today, the Twins are sending Bundy to the hill. He, like I think most of the Twins pitchers, over-achieved against the soft teams on their schedule and is struggling mightily right now. The Twins have lost the last six starts by Bundy and they have not been close games.

Yankees vs Twins pick: Over 8 Runs
These two teams have not played an under in three seasons. They are 7-0-2 over the last three seasons. If the Yankees can build a good lead, they can send the bottom part of the bullpen in and we can get some easy ones and this goes over pretty easily.

Same Game Parlay:
Over 8, Aaron Judge to hit a HR, Gerrit Cole Over 7.5 K’s and Aaron Judge to record 2+ RBI’s.
