WARRIORS VS KNICKS, Dec. 14

Kyle Barrette

The Knicks come into this game struggling mightily. This was supposed to be a promising year for the Knicks, but instead a lot of their players have taken steps backwards instead of forwards. December has not been kind to the Knicks, as they have only won one game this month and are now three games under .500. The Warriors just continue to win. Can the Knicks hang with the Warriors? Odds makers have predicted this one might be closer than you think. Let’s break it down.

Knicks
The Knicks were dealt a tough blow two days ago when RJ Barrett and Obi Toppin were ruled out and placed in the Covid-19 protocol. Those two will miss this contest as well. This is a major blow for the Knicks offense that was already struggling. Now they will be without one of their main offensive weapons and top bench scorers against arguably the best team in the league. Despite the injuries, the odds makers see something that will keep this game close. This line started at only -3.5 for the Warriors. The Knicks come into this matchup with the 22nd ranked offense, putting up 105 per game, and the 16th ranked defense, allowing 107 per contest. With the talent still on the Knicks and the game being played at MSG with the Warriors on the back end of a back-to-back, I can somewhat see where the odds makers are getting their number.

Warriors
Yes, Curry will most likely break the record for three-pointers tonight in the most iconic stadium ever. The question now becomes, how will Knick fans react when he does? The Warriors come into this game fresh off a close win against the Pacers. The Warriors are 2-1 in back-to-back situations this season. Golden State ranks third in offense, putting up 112 per game, and they rank first in defense, only allowing 100 points per game. The Warriors’ offense has slowed down over the past two weeks. They have not been the third-ranked offensive team that they’ve been throughout the first quarter of the season. They have scored 107 or less in six of their last eight games. There were questions about Curry’s status for the Pacers game, and you can see his numbers have dipped over the last three games. Maybe just maybe, there is an underlying injury there.

Warriors vs Knicks The Pick: Warriors -4
With the injury to Curry not being confirmed and him continuing to play with the Knicks’ injuries being confirmed, I’ve got to take the better and healthier team. Take the Warriors -4.

Same Game Parlay
Julius Randle First Basket, Warriors to win by 1-10 Pts, Julius Randle Over 9.5 Rebounds and Warriors -5.
