UFC 270 BEST BETS
From the Honda Center in California, 11 action-packed fights will take place as the UFC hosts it’s 270th event. This card is absolutely loaded with thrilling action featuring a riveting championship bout in the heavyweight and flyweight division. While the main event will be electrifying, this entire card should be another classic for the history books. It will once again be another volatile night in the UFC for this slate, and here’s what I like.
Said Nurmagomedov ML (-185)
For the second fight on the main card, Said Nurmagomedov looks to keep his win streak alive against Cody Stamann. The opening line initially favored Nurmagomedov at -245 odds, but that gap has shrunk, and he is now just a -185 betting favorite. Although he has no blood relation to MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, Said has been slaying the competition much like his fellow countryman. Last time out, Nurmagomedov defeated Mark Striegl via knockout, whereas Stamann lost his last fight via unanimous decision and has lost two of his last three fights. With the more impressive MMA resume for Nurmagomedov, it will be difficult for Stamann as the underdog to gain the momentum necessary to win this bout. These odds of -185 for a straight up victory for Nurmagomedov has tremendous value given his opponent started out just as a boxer. After seeing the weigh-ins it was evident that both fighters are well prepped for this bout. Both fighters have the ability to end it early but also the durability to make this a full three round fight. This fight is heavily favored to go the distance at -250. Therefore, play it safe and take this relatively juicy moneyline for Said Nurmagomedov to excel in this UFC bout.
Deiveson Figueiredo ML (+150)
In this exciting flyweight championship match, Brandon Moreno looks to defend his title against former flyweight champ, Deiveson Figueiredo. Moreno opened up as a -175 ML favorite and is currently favored at odds of -185. Last time these two fought was against each other where Moreno became the first Mexican-born fighter to win a UFC championship via rear-naked choke. It was only the second loss in Figueiredo’s star studded MMA career and the black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will look to redeem himself in this rivalry. The Brazilian comes into this one at the heightened age of 34 whereas Moreno is just 28 years old. Moreno has shown vast improvement in every area from grappling to striking in eachvfight. However, at +150 these odds have exceptional value given Figueiredo’s stellar career. If he figures out the blueprint to defeat Moreno, then he could be a live dog. Figueiredo is the more experienced and well-rounded fighter and should show major adjustments from the last fight. Take him to bounce back and regain his title.
Francis Ngannou ML (+120)
In the main event of the evening, current heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou looks to defend his title versus Cyril Gane. The opening line initially favored Francis Ngannou at -125 odds, but the line has completely flipped in favor of Cyril Gane where he is a -145 favorite. This will be the first meeting between these two former teammates, and they have come a long way since they trained in the same gym. Ngannou won the heavyweight title against legendary brawler Stipe Miocic, whereas Cyril Gane won in domination fashion over Derrick Lewis by knockout. With the experience edge in championship fights going to Ngannou, it will be difficult for Gane as the challenger to gain the momentum necessary to win the title. These odds of +120 for a straight up Ngannou victory have unreal value, whereas the contender is the heavy favorite. After seeing their stare downs, it was evident that this will be a highly intense bout. Both fighters have the durability to make this a full five round fight but also the ability to end this fight early. With this in mind, play it safe and take this juicy moneyline for Francis Ngannou to defend his title.
