We are locked in on the hardwood as we sit at 6-0 over our last six plays and should make it seven with today’s top pick. Outside of Lakers fans, no one feels sorry for LeBron. Especially this Suns group, who fell short in the finals and look more and more like they are destined to be back there again this year. So, do LeBron and the Lakers have a shot against the Suns tonight? Let’s break this one down.

If things couldn’t get worse for LA, Anthony Davis went down and will be out for at least a month. If you watch Lakers games, you will clearly notice that Westbrook’s jumper is broken and with the refs not calling fouls like they used to, his game is very vulnerable. Jordan is filling in while Howard is still out and is a fouling machine. This Suns team is coming in at basically full strength, which is bad news for any team, let alone a beat-up team like the Lakers. Using the Bulls game as an example, Melo was 41% from deep, which he is likely to regress, and LeBron went for 31 points, his second highest total this month. The end result was that the Lakers still lost by 5 in a game where the Bulls didn’t have their top offensive threat in LaVine. The Suns are healthier than the Bulls and play the same, if not better, defense. It seems like too high of a mountain to climb for LA.

I think the Suns are looking forward to this matchup, honestly. We saw that they have not missed a beat when they beat up the Hornets a few nights ago. Now they get to go to the king’s house, and they can smell blood in the water. Everyone knows this isn’t the Lakers team that you would have to face if LA finds their way into the playoffs, but the Lakers and LeBron are someone everyone wants to beat when they can. As we pointed out above, I doubt that the Lakers can improve on how they played the Bulls and will likely face a harder challenge on both sides of the ball here when they play the Suns.

Lakers vs Suns the Pick: Suns -7
A seven-point spread for lucky number seven. Look, the Suns are looking to show everyone their trip to the finals was no fluke, and they are the top dogs in the west. Beating LeBron in his own house is a victory that will begin to send that message. It could get pretty bad for LA tonight. Take the Suns minus the points tonight.
