SGG PICKS OF THE DAY MAY 6
James Harden u20.5 points (-118 FD)
We all know that James Harden has had his playoff struggles. In these current playoffs, he is averaging 18.8 points per game on 40.2 percent shooting (34.8 percent from three). That’s not terrible but not eye-popping either. In the two games against Miami, Harden has scored 16 and 20 points respectively. Tonight, I do not see him scoring 21 points or more against Miami’s tough defense. If Embiid plays tonight, which he’s doing everything in his power to do, Harden will have even fewer scoring opportunities.
Luka Doncic o51.5 pts+reb+ast (-111 FD)
I don’t know if the Mavericks will win at home tonight. What I do know is, for them to have any sort of chance, Luka has to be nothing short of legendary. In five postseason games, he’s been just that averaging 33.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game. In the two games against Phoenix, Luka has done all he can by averaging 40 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists. Tonight, he will clear the 51.5 PRA threshold simply because his team can’t afford anything less.
Chris Paul o9.5 assists (+110 FD)
To start the postseason, CP3 tallied 10 or more assists in the Suns’ first five games. In the three playoff games since, he has not gotten more than eight. I think that will change tonight. In the first two games against Dallas, Paul took 13 and 16 shots respectively. In the regular season, he averaged 11 shots per game. As we know, an NBA playoff series is all about adjustments. I believe Dallas will adjust on Chris Paul defensively by not allowing him to shoot as easily. Paul will then adjust to the adjustment and find open teammates. Slam that over.
