NFL MNF: SAINTS VS SEAHAWKS BEST BETS/PROPS, OCT. 25
It has been a very profitable season so far especially for these primetime games, so these Monday night picks carry a lot of weight. For this NFC showdown, head coach Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks host the New Orleans Saints and coach Sean Payton. New Orleans comes into this week fresh off a bye, whereas the Seahawks suffered defeat at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, 23-20. If Seattle wants to stay in the playoff hunt, this is already a must win game for them in the season. They will have their hands full against this revitalized Saints team. With that in mind, here is what I like the most about this MNF action.
The opening line for this game favored the Saints by a field goal but they are currently four and a half-point road favorite. In addition to a stellar 11-4-1 record ATS in their last 16 games, New Orleans is 3-0 ATS in their past 3 games vs Seattle. After Geno Smith fumbled away the Seahawks’ chances of winning last week, it is clearly evident that this offense is totally unreliable.
Although they were able to have some success running the ball, it will be quite difficult to keep pace with the Saints offense. Prior to their bye week, New Orleans had a convincing 33-22 win over the Washington Football Team. In each of the Saints three wins, quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown at least two touchdown passes in each game. As long as he takes care of the ball and manages the offense, the rest of their team should take care of everything else for the win. Take the Saints minus the points to defeat the Seahawks.
Alvin Kamara Over 30.5 Receiving Yards
Following a strong performance in his receiving duties against the WFT, Alvin Kamara should be very productive in the passing game. He totaled 51 yards receiving on 5 catches in their victory two weeks ago and last year he had a whopping 83 catches for 756 yards. Alvin is a premium receiving back in the NFL and with his receiving total this low, it must be taken advantage of. Coming off his best outing of the season, he will be well rested against this lousy Seahawks defense. Seattle is allowing 140 rushing yards alone to tailbacks this year, which is the third worst in the league. Last time these two teams met in 2019, Kamar had a monstrous game that included 9 catches for 92 yards. With how big of a threat, he is out of the backfield, he’ll make teams pay that give him open space through the air. Expect Alvin to have an overall big night and take him to get it done on the receiving end.
Marquez Callaway Any time TD (+175)
With injuries to a couple Saints skills players, end zone threat Marquez Callaway is primed for a touchdown in this one. Last time out, Callaway hauled in two touchdowns for 85 yards receiving on 8 targets. He has shown he is a key element to their offense even when they’re fully healthy. The wide receiver is second in targets and receptions for this dynamic New Orleans offense. Additionally, he is tied for first on the team in receiving touchdowns. His partner in crime at receiver, Deonte Harris, is ruled out for this game, so Callaway has an opportunity for a big night. Furthermore, another player who sees a lot of action near the end zone, Taysom Hill, will also be out for the Saints. In showing chemistry with QB Jameis Winston, he has emerged as the main guy in the passing game for New Orleans before WR Michael Thomas returns. Take him to score a TD in what should be a fruitful night for him.
