We grinded out another win from yesterday’s Blue Jays pick. Shockingly, Pivetta was not terrible, but in the end, we cashed our bet and the Sox ended up having a meltdown in the ninth with two outs and lost the game in extras. Today we’re moving on to another problem impacting the league. The Chicago White Sox have been super frauds to start the season. Remember, they are dealing with a good amount of injuries and it is unusually cold this time of year, but we must strike before they turn it around, because eventually they will.

So far, it’s the same story as last year for the Royals. A young team that has a lot of talent and is supposed to be good here soon, continues to struggle to score and win games consistently. This team has been hitting recently, as they have scored four or more runs in three of their last four games. The Royals are sending Zack Greinke to the hill. Greinke has been effective so far this season, allowing four runs in 15 innings, not really walking many batters and not striking many out, just being effective. Greinke is allowing a .242 average in over 100 at-bats against current White Sox hitters.

White Sox:
The struggle bus is real, and this team is driving it at the moment. This White Sox offense simply isn’t hitting. Only once in those eight games have they scored more than four runs. Dylan Cease takes the bump today. Cease cruised through his first two outings, only allowing one run in each, then finally got roughed up by a Guardians team that was on a heater. If he can keep his strikeout numbers high, he could be the replacement for Rodon in this rotation. Cease does have great career numbers against the Royals, only allowing a .212 average against in over 158 at bats.

Royals vs White Sox Pick: F5 under 3.5 Runs
Clearly, looking at totals around the league, you can see the adjustment from odds makers to the extremely high number of unders so far this season as we have a ton of totals in the 7’s. This one, though, has two guys who are efficient at getting out, very cold weather and a team struggling to score. All this should result in a cashed F5 under.
