Following a slow first half, the Pelicans were able to rally, allowing the Pistons to score only 36 second-half points on their way to a 10-point victory, bringing us to 5-0 in our last five games. Today we’re headed to the west coast for a matchup with the Nets and the Kings. The Nets will be on the second night of a back-to-back and the Kings are coming off a cross-country road trip where they swept in all five games. So, do the Kings have a chance to break their losing streak now that they’re at home? Let’s break it down and find out.

Well, I should say the road nets. Tonight’s lineup for the Nets will include Kyrie Irving since the game is on the road. Like the Kings, the Nets actually come into this game on a five-game losing streak as well. The Nets have been going through a lot of injury issues as of late, with almost their entire starting lineup missing some sort of time. Although there are still a good group of injured players, a majority of their starting lineup will be back for this game. Despite the injuries, Brooklyn has maintained their offense and still ranks in the top six in the league, averaging 111 per game. On the defensive end, they have fallen below the midpoint in the league and rank 19th, allowing 110 points per game. The Nets have two tough games coming up against the Jazz and Nuggets and will want to end this losing streak before those two matchups.

Sacramento is headed into this game without big man Marvin Bagley, and Fox is also a game-time decision. This offense desperately needs Fox in this game; he was out for the entire road trip, and the team was barely able to put up 100 points per game without him. Playing this Nets team and putting up a scoring line like that is not going to cut it. On the season, the Kings rank 13th in offense, putting up 109 per game, but we have seen what it’s like without Fox and it has the potential to get worse without Bagley. Sacramento has been a disaster on the defensive side of the ball this season and currently sits at 29th in defense, allowing 115 points per game. This scenario is shaping up to be a long night for the Kings.

Nets vs Kings Prediction: Nets -4.5
This scenario and the numbers are way too much in the favor of the Nets in this one. Even with Fox, there won’t be enough offense to keep up with this Nets team with how bad the Kings play on defense. The Nets should win pretty easily. Take them at -4.5.
