MNF FOOTBALL: RAMS VS 49ERS BEST BETS/PROPS, NOV. 15

Patrick Werkmeister

After a horrific 0-3 performance on last week’s best bets for Monday Night Football, this game looks a lot better for making money. In this important divisional matchup, Matt Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams travel to San Francisco to face off against Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers. Last week, San Francisco was thumped at home by backup QB Colt McCoy and the Arizona Cardinals. Similarly, the Rams were also embarrassed on their home turf as they lost to the Tennessee Titans. The Rams are in a prime position to bounce back and earn an important victory over their division foes. With this in mind, here is what I like for this primetime contest.

Draft Kings NBA Promotion

Rams (-3.5)
The line for this game opened favoring the Rams by three points, but they have since been up to three and a half-point away favorites. Surprisingly, the 49ers are 0-8 SU in their last eight games played at home making them one of the worst teams at home. Although Rams receiver Robert Woods went out for the year with an ACL injury, Matt Stafford need not to worry after signing Odell Beckham Jr.. Their defense has been dominating offenses all year long and they now have All-Pro edge rusher Von Miller after trading for him. Instead of taking advantage of a home game against the Cardinals in which Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins were out of, San Fran suffered an embarrassing loss. Following their display last week, it’s going to be hard to change their current perception of being a team incapable of covering any spread. The fact that LA is just a slim three and a half-point favorite is utterly shocking. I like the Rams in this spot to bounce back and will be taking them to cover this small margin.

Darrell Henderson Over 67.5 Rushing Yards
After running for just 55 yards on the ground vs the Titans, Darrell Henderson will be hungry to have a better outing this time. Henderson has been an absolute beast for LA where he has seven total touchdowns and almost 1,000 yards from scrimmage already. Additionally, he has been a great help in the passing game with 20 receptions on the season. With the 23rd overall rush defense in the NFL, San Francisco has had a lot of problems with the run this year. In Week 9, their defense allowed over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground versus a terrible overall Cardinals offensive line. With the Rams elite offensive front, they should be able to control the line of scrimmage all night. Take Darrell Henderson to run by this total rushing yardage prop with ease.

Elijah Mitchell Anytime TD (+130)
With a limited number of offensive options for the 49ers, running back Elijah Mitchell serves as the primary offensive target. Although their offense looked lost in Week 9, Mitchell was able to salvage some yardage despite San Francisco abandoning the run game early. In only four official starts on the season, Mitchell has a total of three touchdowns, so he has been able to find the end zone with success. The Rams are currently ranked in the bottom half in rush defense, so this puts him in a great spot to at least be productive. The 6th round draft pick of 2021 has shown a lot of value with his impressive performances on the season. They’re not an especially stout unit, and after last outing, the 49ers should be going with a run-first approach. Take him to score in what should be a back and forth early.
