MNF: GIANTS VS BUCCANEERS BEST BETS/PROPS

Patrick Werkmeister

Although Thursday’s betting performance yielded an 0-3 result, these Monday night picks should bounce back. In this NFC matchup, Daniel Jones and the New York Giants travel to Florida to face off against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last week, the Bucs suffered a ten point loss to the Washington Football Team whereas the Giants were off serving their bye. Following their loss to an opponent like Washington, Tampa Bay’s stock and quality of performances are rapidly declining after their last few outings. However, in a matchup with a weird team like the Giants anything can happen. With this in mind, here is what I like for this Monday NFL action.

Draft Kings NBA Promotion

Giants (+10.5)
The opening line for this game had the Bucs as a huge 12.5-point home favorite, but they are currently favored by just 10.5 after their loss to Washington. While the Giants are an impressive 13-1 ATS in their last 14 games on the road versus NFC opponents, Tom Brady is an abysmal 0-11 ATS in his previous 11 games played in primetime. Additionally, New York is 3-0 ATS in their last three games overall. Although the Giants have just a 3-6 record so far, they have shown they are much better than their record suggests. However, New York will have a game-time decision to make regarding their star running back Saquon Barkley. With receivers Antonio Brown out and Chris Godwin playing banged up, Brady and the Bucs offense has been reeling in the last few weeks. In Week 10, Brady put together a shoddy performance vs one of the worst pass defenses in the league, throwing for just 220 yards and two interceptions. New York on the other hand has done a good job of keeping opposing quarterbacks in check. With this matchup, New York has a great shot to keep this one within reach. Take them plus the points to cover this inflated spread.

Leonard Fournette Over 62.5 Rushing Yards
After running for just 47 yards on the ground vs the WFT, Leonard Fournette will be hungry to have a better outing this time. Additionally, he only had 11 carries, so expect him to be much more involved in the offensive gameplan. Lenny has been an absolute workhorse for the Bucs where he has four total touchdowns and almost 1,000 yards from scrimmage already. Additionally, he has been a great help in the passing game with 38 receptions on the season. With the 27th overall rush defense in the NFL, the Giants have had a lot of problems with the run this year. In Week 9, their defense allowed over 100 yards rushing vs a mediocre Raiders rushing attack. New York is missing a lot of key players at all levels of the defense, so expect Fournette to be productive in some fashion. With the Bucs elite offensive front, they should be able to control the line of scrimmage all night. Take Leonard Fournette to run by this total rushing yardage prop with ease.

Kenny Golladay Any Time TD (+210)
With QB Daniel Jones improving on his ability to minimize mistakes and turnovers, Kenny Golladay is a great candidate to reach the end zone in this one. Although he has no touchdowns so far this year, he has been injured but has bounced back quite nicely since returning. In addition, this season he has already tied his total reception mark from last year in just six games played. The Bucs currently sit in the bottom third in pass defense in the NFL due to multiple huge injuries in their secondary, so expect Golladay to have some form of success. He has shown a consistent ability to get open and that is reflected in the abundant amount of targets he has. They’re not a stout unit with all of their injuries, so expect Kenny to get his normal numbers and be productive. Take him to score in what should be a relatively high-scoring contest.
