What a tale of two halves last night’s game was. The defensive adjustments were exactly right for Miami and it showed as Boston was visibly frustrated by the end of that third quarter beat down. If Miami can take game two at home as well, this might be a shorter conference final than we thought. We shift coasts and get ready for the Western Conference Finals Game One.

I’m not the only one who will tell you the Warriors didn’t exactly look great during their series against the Grizzlies, but they were able to get the job done. The Warriors will be able to stretch this Mavs defense a lot more than the Suns were able to. The Suns seemed to not want to try and attack the paint and instead settled for jumpers. Something that will be fine with this warrior team that enjoys shooting threes. With the Mavs now having to defend the three-point line, look for Green and Looney to have the games that Ayton and McGee should have had for Phoenix.

The Mavs are going to need to bring the same chip on their shoulder mentality that they had in games six and seven of the Suns series. Adjustments are going to need to be made for this team and will determine the series by how fast they can make them. The Mavs have made it this far because a few guys around Luka have finally given him some help. Now he is still the focal point of the offense, but they have shown that they can hurt you too. The Mavs need to avoid panicking when he eventually gets doubled. If they can do that, they have a shot to make it to the finals.

Mavericks vs Warriors Pick: Warriors -5
I think Golden State is going to present a different type of challenge for the Mavs, and it is going to take them at least one to two games to figure it out. Also, being on the road in game seven and then starting a series at one of the toughest places to play is not the best position to be in.

Same Game Parlay:
Warriors -5, Klay Thompson First Basket, Klay Thompson Over 20.5 Pts, Andrew Wiggings Over 15.5 Pts and Stephen Curry to record 6+ assists.
