Hangover: Suns in 5?, June 28th
The Phoenix Suns are a game away from playing in the NBA Finals and there was a golf tournament that had eight playoff holes. It was a crazy fucking weekend in sports. I personally am trying to figure out how I can get the most amount of ramen for the very small amount of money that currently sits in my bank account because boy I did not hit on the bets this weekend.
The conference finals are coming to an end in the NBA and the way things stand right now, it could likely be the Suns taking on the Bucks with Phoenix holding down home-court advantage. The Suns had five more wins than Milwaukee in the regular-season finale and will most likely be favored in any series.
But the Suns still have to get through LA which is seeming to be less difficult than expected. Especially when they have Boogie Cousins at the line with the game ticking down and tensions high and this dude throws a dart at the backboard. The game on Saturday night came in as a pick ‘em and it may have been the only game that I won with cash in my hand. Deandre Ayton is proving that he is becoming a star and even though Devin Booker fouled out, the Suns still won by four and came way under the total with just 164 combined points.
Vegas has drastically corrected the line for Game 5 which now sees Phoenix as a 5.5 point favorite but the public doesn’t necessarily agree with that as 57 percent of the bets are on LA to cover in this game and go to a Game 6.
Milwaukee on the other hand took care of business in Games 2 and 3 and now have a 2-1 series lead with another game in Atlanta before they potentially head home. Milwaukee was favored by 4.5 in the latest game and just leaked out a 113-102 victory. Giannis put together a double-double on 41 minutes, 33 points, and 11 rebounds. The real star was Khris Middelton who put up 38 points with 20 points in the fourth quarter which was three more than the entire Hawks team combined.
The other crazy sporting event that went down this weekend was the Travelers Championship when Harris English took on Kramer Hickock in eight playoff holes. Both of those golfers ended the day 13 under and Hickock had all the pressure on him as he is trying to hold onto his tour card and status. This dude has two putts lip out in the early playoff holes and then it was a battle of the pars. In the end English won on playoff hole eight as there was another par from Hickock and English finally got an elusive birdie.
English was a 35-1 odds to come out as the winner which proved to be an insanely fun day for anyone that put money down on the Valdosta, Georgia native and Hickcok was a 250-1 underdog who almost pulled the most massive upset considering I can’t imagine a single person on this Earth through money down on a guy who had never won before.
Is becoming my new favorite prop bet because it’s entirely random and it has incredible odds. Clint Capela was the +1100 man in Game 3 of the Bucks/Hawks series and he cashed that.
I am trusting and I believe that the Suns are going to handle business at home. They are 5.5 point favorites and it feels like this is going to be an elusive victory. Trust Chris Paul, Booker, and Ayton to show up in a big way in front of the home crowd.
