The Royals are officially dead to me. You are a major league team who has not scored in 18 innings against the worst money team in baseball, shameful. We’re getting rid of this royal filth with today’s play. The Guardians are going for the series win as they face off against the Red Sox at Fenway. With the Guardians closing in on their division lead and the Sox falling further and further from theirs, who will take today’s game? Let’s break down today’s matchup and find out.

I mean, you talk about a nice long home stand after the break and you would think, “Alright, awesome, we’re going to start the second half off strong.” We’ll think the complete opposite, and you have reality for the Sox. It started with their worst defeat in history, followed up by two straight losses to get swept by Toronto. Crawford is taking the hill for the Sox today, and outside of two bad starts, he has done alright. Since his first start this season, he has commanded the zone well, only issuing three walks in four outings. This should be a good test for Crawford, especially with the way the Guardians have been hitting the ball.

This team can taste the top spot in the division. They were not given much thought prior to the season, as the White Sox were a 2-1 favorite to win the World Series. Time will tell if they peaked a little too soon or if they are for real and can win all the way to the playoffs. Today they sent McKenzie to the hill. They have won four of his starts in a row and are 12-5 overall in his starts. He had thrown three straight shutout outings and had only allowed one run in his last outing. He has bounced back strong from the thumping by the twins, where they got him for 13 combined runs in back-to-back starts.

Guardians vs Red Sox pick: Guardians ML
Crawford has been alright, but McKenzie has been dealing for the last month and that doesn’t look like it’s going to stop against this Red Sox team that is really struggling right now.

Same Game Parlay:
Guardians ML, Jose Ramirez to record 2+ hits, Franmil Reyes to record an RBI and Steven Kwan to record a run.
