GIANTS VS PADRES JULY 8

Kyle Barrette

Things looked great and then both teams literally just quit scoring for the second half of the entire game. We had six runs going into the fifth and the game ended with seven runs total. You can’t make this stuff up. Today we see some value in a dog to help try and make back some of this coin from these fraud overs. We’re headed back to Cali, where the Padres are hosting the Giants.

Giants:
Let me be the first to put out the disclaimer that this team is soft. Soft like the Sixers were last season, good enough to win, maybe even get into the playoffs, and then just don’t really do anything once they’re there. With that said, you play them because they’re still an above average team that can win you some money. The problem with this team is that their offense has fallen off a cliff. In only three of their last 10 games have they been able to score over three runs, and twice they have only scored four. The Giants are going with the opener approach today, sending Long to the hill, who has done a good job in his limited innings. In five appearances, he has only allowed three runs.

Padres:
The Padres came into yesterday’s game needing a win after being 3-7 in their last 10 games, and they squeezed one out in extras. It’s a win, but it’s not the win this team needs. It wasn’t one of those start-to-finish dominating wins that get a team back on board. They could have definitely used that with Snell coming to the hill today. Look, he has not pitched terribly, but my God, I don’t think there has ever been a more unlucky starting pitcher. Not only have the Padres lost all eight games Snell has started, but going back to last season, he has lost an additional two games, making it 10 starts in a row that the Padres have lost.

Giants vs Padres pick: Giants ML
At plus money and with the curse of Snell on the mound, take the Giants to squeak out a win here to close the week out.

Same Game Parlay:
Giants ML, Mike Yastrzemski to record 2+ hits, Manny Machado to record an RBI and Brandon Belt to record 2+ bases.
