Fenway Park - Home of the Boston Red Sox

Degens Only: Wednesday Plays, May 5

It’s come down to Rodgers or the GM. What a choice you have to make if you’re the Green bay Packers. Do you keep your GM or your future hall of fame QB. I for one can’t blame Rodgers, not only does the guy not address your needs to try and make it to the Super Bowl, but he flat out attempted to draft your potential replacement with the team’s first round pick. I’m with Rodgers on this one; no way I want to help that team win anymore. I don’t see any other way for this to end besides one of the two of them leaving now that all this has come out. What I do see is some more winning plays! Let’s get into today’s selections.

Boston Bullies: Red Sox team total over

As evidenced by the first game I fully expect the Sox to pound the Tigers each game of this series. Detroit has fallen off the rails already this season and that is not good news against a team like Boston who has no problem hitting. Mize is off to another tough start and is an awful 1-6 with a 6+ ERA in his short MLB career. The leash is probably starting to shrink for the former number one overall pick as the losses and the runs continue to pile up. Expect this game to be no different as the Sox are one of the better teams right now and Mize is nowhere close to being ready for them. Look for Mize to get hit all around the “pak” tomorrow. Take the Red Sox team total over.

Brew Crew Bounce Back: Brewers ML

Peralta has pitched well so far this season and I’m going to trust him in this spot. With the Brewers facing a potential sweep of the subpar Phillies this one has a little more value. Again we have the fade Chase Anderson angle in play which is always a plus. I think the Brewers offense is starting to feel the effects of not having that top guy in the lineup in Yelich. It’s a shame for Brewer fans because they were hot even for a few games without him. They have dropped two straight and could potentially be dropping their third as their playing right now and trailing. I think the team will look to one of their top pitchers to help the skid and with a good outing from Peralta and a regular outing from Anderson I think the Brew crew has a good shot at getting the win here.  Take the Brewers ML.

Back the Blue: Dodgers -1.5

Some teams you just tip your cap to and know they don’t stay down for more than a few games because their just that good, welcome the 2021 Dodgers because they’re that team. Kershaw just pitched the shortest game of his career and they currently trail in the second game of the double header. Buehler has some making up of his own to do after getting hit for five runs in his last outing. I expect a full team effort in this one against Alzolay who has not put together that great of a resume so far this season and I don’t think he writes one against a Dodger team that is trying to write the ship. Expect a full team win in this one take the Dodgers -1.5.

Back to the Bombers: NYY/HOU over 9

Don’t look now but we got some runs back in New York. The Yankees have found comfort yes against the sad Tigers but also at home. Three of their last four games at home have had 10+ runs. With two lineups that are no strangers to scoring runs and a pair of mediocre arms on the hill and a total of only nine we shouldn’t expect the trend to come to a halt. The Astros have put up three+ runs in all but three of their road games this season. This series should be an explosive one that produces a lot of runs, nine should not be enough for these teams. Take the over nine.
