Degens Only: Tuesday Plays, Aug. 10

Luka Don Rich is more like it. The Mavs star resigned a huge extension with the club a five year $207 million supermax contract to be exact. The question now becomes who will the Mavs get to play alongside Luka as it appears Porzingas being the Robin was a flop. Eventually I think they land someone, Mark Cuban is not afraid to spend money and he loves to win and he knows what he has in Luka and if he can’t being in players to help him win a championship then eventually he will find a team that will. Until then we wait to see the next move for the Mavs, but for now no more waiting for today’s play’s lets dive in!

Golden G Men: Giants -.15
Certainly no one thought the Giants would be at the point they’re at right now. They have held their own against basically everyone in the league, but man have they dominated Arizona this season. The Giants come in with a 12-2 head-to-head record with the D-backs and six of their last seven wins against the D-backs have been via the run line. Wood will be looking for revenge in this one as Arizona didn’t get the win, but they did rough up wood for the tune of four runs over four innings. This will be his fourth start against Arizona this season and prior to his last start he had not allowed more than two runs. Gallen will be making his fourth start against the Giants as well and he has not allowed fewer than three runs in each start so far. Arizona is a bad team, but they are just a sad 1-9 in Gallen’s last 10 starts. He has been giving up the long ball five homeruns in his last five starts. The Giants need these easy wins to keep ahead of LA and the Padres they get it here, take the Giants -1.5.

Big M’s: Mariners -1.5
The Mariners are on the outside looking at a tight wildcard race and need to pile on the wins as well as get a little help, but they can only control what they can control and that means beating the sorry Rangers. Seattle will send Gilbert to the hill and that is good news for a team needing wins as the Mariners are 11-3 on the season when Gilbert starts. They get to face a Rangers team that has the worst record in the league after a day off AT 3-12 on top of that they send their worst guy to the mound in Allard. The Rangers are 1-11 in his starts and have lost the last nine games that the has started. Texas hit Gilbert a little in his previous two starts against them, but Seattle was still able to come away with victories in both games. Allard has had two terrible starts against Seattle where he allowed seven and eight runs. The Rangers are just going through the motions at this point, and this should be a layup for Seattle take them -1.5.

Unstoppable Jays: Blue Jays ML
No team is hotter than the Blue Jays right now. The Jays had multiple walk-off wins in the last three games and have been crushing the ball lately. They will be taking a trip to LA for this one and should be in good shape to continue hitting. Suarez goes for the Angels and has allowed four or more runs in six of his last 10 starts. Stripling has been solid for the Jays all season and hasn’t allowed more than two runs to any opponent that is not in the AL East almost all season. We know all about the troubles of the Angels’ bull pen so if Suarez somehow manages to slow down the Jays bats you sure know they won’t. Toronto is firing on all cylinders right now and there is no reason to think they can’t get the win in this matchup take the Jays ML.

Limited Royalty: Royals F5 TT under 2.5
Cortes takes the hill for the Yankees, and he has been lights out his last four starts only allowing four runs combined. Today he gets the Royals who have been slumping after finishing up their nine-game road trip where they only scored a combined 28 runs. The Royals are sitting at 20th in the league against LHP since mid-July hitting only .238. The Yankees have been rolling and have been getting a lot of needed boost from their young arms and they will get another good effort here, take the Royals F5 TT under 2.5.
