New results every week. Today is the NBA’s day off, so we’re heading back to the diamond. It’s not the most exciting game you’re going to watch outside of being an Orioles or Cubs fan, but that’s where we are headed for today’s matchup. Both teams are struggling this season, but this one has a pitching mismatch that cannot be overlooked.

Baltimore sends Kyle Bradish to the hill. When we first saw him, everyone thought he had some potential and could develop into a solid number two behind John Means, but boy, were we wrong. Bradish has struggled mightily. His strikeout numbers are low and teams are able to put the ball in play a ton against him. He has pitched past the fourth inning only three times this season. He is allowing teams to hit over .300 against him. The worst part of all this is that he has allowed a homer in every single start so far. His ERA has ballooned to over six and shows no signs of coming down soon. This does not bode well for the Orioles, who have a below-average offense and an average bullpen.

Nobody expected much from the Cubs this season as the team tries to rebuild, but Keegan Thompson sure is making his case so far this season. The right-hander is 6-0 with a sub-two ERA. Starting as basically an opener and going only a few innings, Thompson’s role has grown as he has now gone into the fifth inning on multiple occasions. As the season progresses, I don’t see how he doesn’t make his way into the starting rotation full time. He is coming off his worst game of the year, where he allowed five hits and three runs in a game where he was given the win.

Cubs vs Orioles Pick: Cubs ML
The Cubs’ offense can do enough here, especially from what they are going to see from Bradish. The Orioles will likely struggle against Thompson, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it into the fifth inning again in this one.

Same Game Parlay:
Chicago Cubs ML, Patrick Wisdom to hit a HR, Ian Happ to record an RBI and Patrick Wisdom to record an RBI.
