BULLS VS WARRIORS, BEST BETS/PROPS, NOV. 12

Patrick Werkmeister

Now that every team is about 10 games in so far, each conference has slightly taken shape as the season moves into full swing. For this interconference matchup, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors host Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls. Last game out, the Warriors swiftly defeated the Timberwolves whereas the Bulls also earned a victory against the Dallas Mavericks. If the season were to end today, these two would be at pole position for the conference playoffs. However, just because they’re hot to start the year doesn’t mean they will even make the playoffs. With this in mind, here are the best bets for this NBA Friday contest.

Draft Kings NBA Promotion

Warriors (-5.5)
The opening line for this match originally favored the Warriors by four points, but they are now five and a half-point home favorite. One of the primary reasons for this line movement is due to the positive COVID testing for Bulls star center Nikola Vucevic, who is out in this one. Chicago has been an impressive 9-3 ATS in their last 12 overall and is also 5-2 ATS in their previous seven on the road. However, Golden State is an unstoppable 5-0 ATS in their last five games played. With the Warriors on an outstanding six-game winning streak, they have seen tremendous production from their small forward Andrew Wiggins and obviously Stephen Curry. Wiggins dropped 35 in their win over the T-Wolves on Wednesday and had an unforgettable posterizing dunk over his former teammate Karl Anthony-Towns. Alongside Jordan Poole, Steph now has two trusty members in the backcourt to fill in for Klay Thompson’s role until he returns sometime this season. With Vucevic out for Chicago, he will be a hard spot to fill that consists of a high volume of points, rebounds, and blocked shots. I have not bought into this Bulls team yet and with them in hostile enemy territory without a key player, I have my doubts about their odds. Take Steph and the Warriors to handle the Bulls and cover this margin.

Andrew Wiggins Over 16.5 Points
After scoring 35 points against his former team, Andrew Wiggins seems to be improving in his role with the Warriors. Wiggins is averaging nearly 18 points per game and has been slowly showing growth on this squad. Wiggins has been Steph’s sidekick ever since Klay went down and up until to this point in the season, he has been rather inconsistent. Without their big man in the middle, Chicago should have a hard time stopping Wiggins from going to the basket and getting his shots. Last time out, Vucevic had 18 points, 10 boards and a blocked shot, however, they will be without his essential services. This prop has amazing value given his ridiculous numbers last time out. While he has a low of 12 points this season, I’m going to ride the hot hand and take him to once again produce at an efficient rate. Take Andrew Wiggins to score more than his total points prop with ease.

Stephen Curry Over 5.5 Rebounds
With Steph Curry being one of the most active players in the NBA during a game, he is able to grab plenty of rebounds despite his size disadvantage. While it’s common to think of Steph as a scorer with handles who drops dimes, he also has bunnies where so far, he is averaging 6.5 rebounds in addition to 6.5 assists per game. Additionally, primary rebounder Draymond Green will be out for tonight’s contest due to a thigh injury, which opens the door for Steph to pick up the rebounding slack. Alongside Green, Warriors big man James Wiseman has been out for the Warriors for several months. They don’t exactly have a dominant rebounder at the moment, but Curry does a great job of tracking down the ball when it goes up. Take him to get enough boards to hit this prop.

Same Game Parlay:
Zach Lavine Over 27.5 Points, Andrew Wiggins Over 16.5 Points, Jordan Poole Over 18.5 Points, Demar Derozan Over 5.5 Rebounds, Steph Curry Over 5.5 Rebounds, Jordan Poole Over 2.5 Rebounds, Lonzo Ball Over 5.5 Rebounds, Lonzo Ball Over 5.5 Assists and Warriors to win by 1-10 Points.
