BUCKS VS NETS MARCH 31

Kyle Barrette

It’s been a rough few days. One team loses multiple 20-point leads to one of the biggest choke jobs of the season, and now the hottest team in basketball gives up a 13-point halftime lead and chokes the cover away. All this leads me to tonight’s selections in the Nets and Bucks game. The Nets are trying to prove they are not more of a fraud than the Lakers and the Bucks are getting ready to defend their title. So who has the edge here? Let’s break it down and find out.

Nets:
Kyrie is finally free and that has helped the offense, but this team wouldn’t know defense if it came down and was played for them. If you watch the games, you’ll see Durant give the LeBron effort and just stand there and let the opponent blow by him and get to the rim. This team is just going to try and outscore people, and they have the weapons to do it, but it’s a bold strategy. The Pistons have been playing better basketball lately, but having to make a second-half rally to beat them is not a good look. The Nets are 4-1 straight up over their last five, averaging 117 per game and allowing 115 per game. The Nets might make it past the first round, but once they hit a team that is balanced on both sides of the ball, it’s going to be a rough go.

Bucks:
You have to give it to this team even when you think they are out of it. The Bucks are clearly the top team in the East. Miami is up and down and has a decent amount of injuries. The Sixers are the softest of all the playoff teams. Boston was on top of the world but just lost Rob Williams for a month or more and we saw how big he was in their first game without him. Chicago forgot how to play basketball. All roads are going to go through Milwaukee again this postseason. As for tonight’s game, the Nets are going to need to step up their defense because we all know Giannis is going to the rim and if they’re not going to try and slow him down, it’s a wrap.

Bucks vs Nets Pick: Bucks +2
Milwaukee has the offense to keep up with the Nets, and they have the defense to slow them down enough that they should probably even win a close one outright. Take the free points and Bucks +2.
