BLUE JAYS VS A’S JULY 6

Kyle Barrette

The Padres didn’t show up yesterday and continued their losing streak. But today we have a rare overs play with two pitchers who have a 10+ combined ERA. One of the most explosive offenses in the league when the Blue Jays take on the A’s, let’s break down today’s play.

Blue Jays:
The Jays come into this game trying to break out of a slump. They have lost their last five in a row. Their offense is going to need to show up because there will likely be some late fireworks in this one. Berrios is on the hill for the Jays today, and this man is money when it comes to the over. He is an overall 12-3-1 when it comes to O/U in games that he started this season. He has allowed seven home runs combined in just his last five starts. Jacob DeGrom wishes he had a quarter of the run support that the Jays give to Berrios. The Jays have scored seven or more runs in four of their last five starts, and they scored double digit runs in their two starts before those.

Oakland:
There is not a whole lot to love about the A’s this year except when it comes to some soft pitching and having a good feeling that you are on the other side and there is a good chance your team is going to score some runs. Kaprielian takes the mound today in Oakland, and he too, has numbers that heavily favor the over. Kaprielian has a record of 7-2 for the over in his starts and he is 4-0 at home for the over this season. With a play like this, you are more worried about a team like Oakland scratching a few runs across to help get the over, but they have actually held their own and scored five runs in both of their two wins in this series. Kaprielian has pretty average home run numbers. They might be a little elevated, but his walks seem to be the bigger concern as he typically has multiple per outing.

A’s vs Blue Jays Pick: Over 8 Runs
Both teams are poised to score here. Both pitchers are no strangers to allowing runs and base runners. Look for this one to go over pretty easily.

Same Game Parlay:
Over 8 Runs, Seth Brown to hit a HR, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to record 2+ hits, Bo Bichette to record an RBI and Bo Bichette to record a run.
