Portland hits the road again here on the second night of a back-to-back and we all know what that means. Portland is one of a handful of teams that has been awful on the road this season. With their only win coming against the league punching bag in the Houston Rockets.  It’s interesting to see them as a road favorite here. Will the Blazers be able to begin to right the road woes or can the Kings keep the streak alive? Let’s break it down.

The Kings come into this game 1-8 over their last nine games. The last four have not even been close as Sacramento has lost its last four games by double digits. The Kings are 2-7 straight up and ATS on their home floor. Their offense as of late has been about as bad as can be, only breaking the century points mark one time. The awful road defense of Portland could be just what this Kings offense needs to get back on track. Not only will the offense need to improve, but their defense will need to play better as well. A big reason for the team’s losing streak has been their defense. The Kings have allowed their opponent to score over 100 points in eight straight games. With a suspect offense the Kings can’t afford to give up another 100-point outing by their opposition.

The Blazers’ struggles on the road have been highlighted in these articles before but nothing has been done to improve this team away from home. The Kings have been playing bad but if the same old Blazers show up, the Kings are definitely capable of pulling off the upset. After Portland’s last road loss they fell to 1-7 on the road and have lost almost all of those games by double digits. Portland’s defense is allowing an eye-opening 10 points more in road games than home games. It’s going to be interesting to see how well this Blazers team will be able to respond to the quick pace of the Kings especially on the back to back of what will likely be a physical game against the Nuggets.

Blazers vs Kings the Pick: Kings +2.5
The Kings have been in a rut lately, but given the circumstances that Portland comes to town with, this is one of their best chances to break out of the slump. Eventually, I think Portland figures out what’s been going wrong on the road but not in this spot, take the Kings +2.5.
