Best Bets: Bucks Nets Game 7, June 19

Hello and happy weekend, you drunken degenerates. We have one hell of a slate for you today with Game 7 going down in the Eastern Conference semifinals between the Brooklyn Nets and  Milwaukee Bucks.

This has been one hell of a series so far that has seen an impressive 2-0 comeback from the Bucks, the greatest performance of Kevin Durant’s career, and some brutal injuries that may seriously impact the Nets chances of moving past this round. There is nothing better than a Game 7 which is why this entire Best Bets will be dedicated to this glorious game.

Let’s talk logistics first. The Nets are returning home to a state where no one really gives a shit about them because they are all Knicks fans but it’s a Game 7 so there will still be a packed house with fake ass fans rooting for them and that’s all that really counts. Kyrie Irving has already been ruled out for this final contest with the ankle injury so it’ll come down to Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, James Harden, DeAndre Jordan, hell, I even hear Steve Nash is suiting up in this game just so they can potentially take down Giannis.

To recap, you need to remember that Brooklyn took a commanding 2-0 series lead when they played at home in the first two games. Then they headed to Milwaukee where the series was tied up before winning one more game on their home court to take a 3-2 series lead. So if you are following me here, the Nets are really fucking good when they’re playing at an arena where fans are slightly interested in them but probably more so for the Instagram photo they can post later with a caption that reads something along the lines of, “OG Brooklyn, where Vince Carter at?”

We have EVEN odds for this game which is a fun little dice to roll and the moneyline has Milwaukee as the underdog at -107 with Brooklyn at -112. The total has been set at 215 which is a far way away from the original 239 that was established in Game One. That under keeps on dropping but that points don’t add up each and every time.
My best bet in this game is to take the EVEN moneyline and ride the Nets. They have proven three times in this series and six times so far in the playoffs overall that they are the superior team when playing at home. They’ve yet to lose on their own court and they have the team with the better players right now. With Harden going 40 minutes in Game 6, I trust that his hammy has recovered and he is ready to ball out in maybe the most pivotal game of his career so far if he wants to capture an elusive ring.

The second favorite bet would be to play the UNDER. I know that sounds crazy given where this series started with the total but these two teams just aren’t hitting the mark and this Milwaukee defense is exceptional. In six games, they’ve combined for more than 215 points just two times. Since 2002, the UNDER in a Game 7 has hit 67 percent of the time. With Harden getting more plays, his isolation slows things down and this has already been a series where the pace is dragging along.

And finally, I will leave you with a prop bet which is for Giannis UNDER 33.5 points. I hate to be this guy and I wish I wasn’t typing this but Giannis isn’t the playoff hero we need right now. He has yet to truly come up big in the most crucial spots. This total is more than 5 points above his series average and I think the Nets defense will be the best its been all series. Giannis will be passing off to avoid any isolation of himself.
