It’s always nice to start the week with a win as the Braves take care of business easily and cash. Today we’re on the move to Kansas City, where the Royals are hosting the Angels. Two teams struggling to find their footing. Who gets a little better grip with a win today? Let’s break this game down and find out.

The Royals have some good pieces but haven’t been able to put anything together. The team has underperformed due to the lack of a major frontline starter, and it will be interesting to see if they blow it up or keep Pat and try to sign a big arm in the offseason. The Royals come in at 22-29 in home games and are sending Keller to the hill today. The Royals are 7-11 in Keller’s starts this season. Keller’s season has been very up and down, with either eight strikeouts and no runs allowed or three strikeouts and five runs allowed; there hasn’t been much in between. The Royals bullpen is coming in with a 4.66 ERA, so for their sake, hopefully shutout Keller is on the mound.

It’s sad when a team that has so much talent just can’t get it together. This team started out strong and then just completely fell off a cliff. Injuries to top players again and more underwhelming pitching have led to another lost season. Just for reference, they had the Angels over/under at 86 before the season started. This team has been a bad road team for a few years and the trend has continued this season as they are 19-29 on the road this season. Janson Junk will make his season debut for the Angels tonight. Junk started four games at the end of last season and was not very impressive. He never got into the fifth inning in any of his starts, allowed 11 runs and gave up home runs in three out of his four starts.

Royals vs Angels Pick:  Royals ML
The Angels are a mess and coming off a rare road shutout win, I expect more out of the Royals today as they should hit well against Junk.

Same Game Parlay:
Royals ML, Andrew Benintendi to record 2+ hits, Andrew Benintendi to hit a HR, Hunter Dozier to record an RBI and Whit Merrifield to record a run.
